The Reagan Legacy Foundation proudly honors those that serve aboard aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan CVN 76 by offering scholarships for sailors and airmen and their family members.

General information for applicants is below. Sailors/Airwing, please contact your supervisor or the ship’s Education Officer for more information.

Selection Criteria:
The Reagan Legacy Foundation Scholarship Program shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin, or religious preference.  The criteria for determining scholarship selectees shall be based on:

  • Financial need
  • Academic achievement or demonstrated commitment to future academic performance 
  • Demonstrated leadership and extra -curricular activities
  • A brief written essay about President Ronald Reagan

General Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant/recipient must be an Active Duty Sailor or member of the Airwing serving aboard USS Ronald Reagan as of the application deadline; or the spouse, Registered Domestic Partner, child or dependent of an Active Duty Sailor or member of the Airwing serving aboard USS Ronald Reagan as of the application deadline.

The applicant/recipient must be enrolled in a college, university, vocational or trade school.  Students pursuing degrees or professional certifications on-line are eligible.

Applicant/recipient shall be a full-time or part-time student.  The applicant/recipient shall have a minimum of 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (letter grade of C); or demonstrate a commitment to future academic performance. The applicant must be a US citizen or legal US permanent resident at the time this application is submitted. Only one scholarship per family will be awarded in any 12 month period.
