The Reagan Legacy Foundation proudly honors those that who serve aboard aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan CVN 76 by offering scholarships for sailors and airmen and their family members.

Selection Criteria

The Reagan Legacy Foundation Scholarship Program shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin, or religious preference.  The criteria for determining  scholarship selectees shall be based on:

  • Academic Achievement
  • Commitment to continued education & future academic achievement
  • Demonstrates leadership skills in all areas
  • Actively involved in extra-curricular activities
  • Submits a brief written essay about President Reagan

General Eligibility Criteria

The applicant/recipient must be an Active Duty Sailor or member of the Airwing serving aboard USS Ronald Reagan as of the application deadline; or the spouse, Registered Domestic Partner, child or dependent of an Active Duty Sailor or member of the Airwing serving aboard USS Ronald Reagan as of the application deadline.

The applicant/recipient must be enrolled in a college, university, vocational or trade school.  Students pursuing degrees or professional certifications on-line are eligible.

Applicant/recipient shall be a full-time or part-time student.  The applicant/recipient shall have a minimum of 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale or equivalent (letter grade of C); or demonstrate a commitment to future academic performance. The applicant must be a US citizen or legal US permanent resident at the time this application is submitted. Only one scholarship per family will be awarded in any 12 month period.
